Managing multiple branches of a business

If your company operates in several locations (or has multiple brands under the same VAT number), Banqup lets you manage each one separately while keeping everything under the same legal entity.

Each branch or division can have its own dedicated space, giving you a clear overview and independent control over documents, users, and settings.

What is a space?

A space is a separate working environment within your company’s Banqup account. Each space runs independently, with its own:

  • Documents and invoices

  • Payment accounts

  • Apps and integrations

  • Users and roles

  • Settings

This separation helps you keep financial data, workflows, and users organised per branch or department without mixing them up.

When to create a new space

Create a new space if you want to:

  • Separate activities between branches, departments, or business lines.

  • Keep financial data distinct for each location.

  • Assign different teams or user permissions per branch.

Example

You run "Delight Catering BV" with two locations: one in Brussels and one in Antwerp. Each branch can have its own Banqup space to manage local invoices, staff, and expenses separately.

Creating a new space

  1. Click the main menu in the top-right corner.

  2. Click Switch space.

  3. Select Create space.

  4. Enter a space name and optionally a location number.

  5. Fill in the address.

After you select a subscription, your new space will be ready and can have its own apps, users, and subscription.

Important

Creating a new space does not create a new legal entity.

It only adds another workspace under the same company (same VAT number).

If you want to onboard a new company, see Managing multiple companies.

Switching between spaces

  1. Click the main menu in the top-right corner.

  2. Click Switch space.

  3. Choose the space you want to open from the list.

You’ll always see the name of your current space at the top-right of the screen.

Notes

  • Each space has its own apps, documents, users, and subscription.

  • Users must be invited separately to each space.

  • Permissions can differ between spaces.

  • There’s no limit to how many spaces you can create.

FAQ

Can I restrict users to a specific space?

Yes. You can invite users only to the spaces they need to access and assign them roles per space.

Can I merge two spaces later?

No. Spaces are independent. Data can’t be automatically merged.

Can I use different integrations per space?

Yes. Each space can connect to different integrations.
