Banqup automatically archives your documents to help you comply with legal requirements while keeping your financial records organized and accessible. The archiving period varies based on your subscription plan.

Archiving periods by plan type

Free plan

  • Documents are archived for 12 months from their upload date

  • After 12 months, documents are automatically removed from your account

Paid plans

  • Documents are archived for 10 years to meet Belgian legal requirements

  • The 10-year period starts from the end of the taxable period to which documents relate

  • This ensures compliance with Belgian tax and accounting regulations

Legal context

Belgian law requires businesses to keep their financial documents (invoices, credit notes, and related documents) for 10 years following the taxable period they relate to. Our paid plans' archiving period is designed to help you meet this legal obligation automatically.

Tips for document management

  • Regularly check your document archive to ensure important documents are retained

  • Download important documents before the archiving period ends

  • Consider upgrading to a paid plan if you need extended archiving

Important notes

  • Once documents are removed from the archive, they cannot be recovered

  • Export options are available to download your documents before your archive expires
