Attaching documents to sales invoices

Attaching documents to sales invoices is an essential feature that allows you to keep all relevant information in one place. This guide will walk you through the process of attaching documents, as well as downloading, previewing, and deleting attachments.

Attaching documents

You can attach documents before or after sending an invoice.

Documents attached before sending the invoice will be sent along to customers with the email delivery channel.

Documents attached after an invoice is sent will only be visible in your Banqup space.

Via Document Creator

  1. Go to Document Creator and create a new invoice.

  2. Click the three dots at the top (next to the Cancel button), then Attach document.

  3. you can upload your attachment(s) by dragging and dropping documents or click to open the file explorer of your computer.

  4. Any document attached will appear in the modal and can be deleted, downloaded, or previewed by clicking the three dots next to it (more details below).

Via Sales Invoices

  1. Go to Sales Invoices and select the invoice to which you want to attach a document.

  2. Click on Attach document.

  3. A modal opens, you can upload your attachment(s) by dragging and dropping documents or using the file explorer.

  4. Any document attached will appear in the modal and can be deleted, downloaded, or previewed by clicking the three dots next to it.

Tip: You can also click on the three dots in the Actions column, then click on Attach document.

Downloading, previewing or deleting attachments

Once you have attached documents to a sales invoice, you can easily download, preview, or delete them as needed.

  1. From the upload modal (step #4 above).

  2. From the invoice details, under the Attachments section by clicking on the three dots next to an attachment.

What types of files can I attach to a sales invoice?

You can attach any standard file type, such as PDF, XML, JPEG, PNG, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel files.
This feature is great for attaching terms and conditions or contracts to your invoices.

Who can see the attached documents?

Any user with access to Sales Invoices can view the attachments.

Will my attachments be sent with the invoice email?

Yes, when you send an invoice via email, attachments up to a total of 1 MB will be included in the email. If the combined size exceeds 1 MB, files beyond this limit will not be included. Make sure the email network connector is active and that email is set as delivery channel for your customer.
