As an accountant, when you're done working with a client, archiving them in your Partner Space is all you need to do. Archiving removes your connection to their Banqup account and stops their subscription renewal at the same time.

How to archive a client

You can archive a client in two ways:

Option 1 - From the client profile:

  1. From Partner Space, go to Clients.

  2. Double-click on the client.

  3. Click Archive.

  4. Confirm your choice.

Option 2 - From the client list:

  1. From Partner Space, go to Clients.

  2. Click the three dots next to the client.

  3. Click Archive.

  4. Confirm your choice.

What happens after archiving

Archiving a client does two things at once:

  • Ends the connection: you lose access to their documents and settings, and they can no longer be managed through your Partner Space.

  • Stops subscription renewal: their subscription won't renew at the end of the current billing period.

The client's data stays intact in their own Banqup account. All their documents and history are preserved, and they can connect with another accounting firm if needed.

Note

Archiving cannot be undone. If you need to work with this client again in the future, you'll have to send them a new invitation.

FAQ

Does archiving cancel the client's subscription immediately?

No. Archiving stops the renewal, but the subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period.

Will the client lose their data when I archive them?

No. Their documents and history stay in their Banqup account. Archiving only removes the link between your Partner Space and their account.

Can I reconnect with an archived client later?

Yes, but you'll need to send them a new invitation. The archiving itself can't be reversed.

Can the client still use Banqup after I archive them?

Yes. They retain access to their own account for the remainder of their billing period. After that, they would need to choose a subscription and pay for it.
