Understanding the types of Partner Spaces in Banqup

Written by Maxime

Banqup offers a Partner Space to professionals and businesses who work with clients on the platform. Depending on whether you are an accountant, a commercial partner sending referrals, or a reseller handling billing, your Partner Space looks and works a little differently. This article explains what each type of Partner Space includes, so you know what to expect from yours.

Accounting partner

If you're an accountant, your Partner Space is built around managing your access to your clients’ documents. Once a client accepts your invitation, their Business Space is linked to your Partner Space. You get access to their documents and Enriched Movement Reports and can manage the setup to export their files to your cloud, servers, and accounting package(s).

What you can do:

  • Invite and onboard clients

  • View and process client documents (purchase invoices, sales invoices/receipts, Enriched Movement Reports)

  • Set up accounting integrations for each client (e.g. Exact Online, Yuki, Dropbox)

  • Register clients for e-invoicing on the Peppol network

  • Assign team members in your accounting firm to specific clients

  • Manage client subscriptions, either pay on their behalf or have them pay themselves

Referral partner

As a referral partner, your role is to introduce businesses to Banqup. When clients you've referred subscribe, you receive a commission on their subscription revenue as a thank-you for growing the network.

What you can do:

  • Invite new clients to Banqup: manually, by importing a list, or by sharing a unique invite link

  • View the subscription status of your active clients

How commissions work: Commissions are calculated based on the subscription revenue from your active clients. Currently, your Banqup contact handles commission reporting manually, an automated overview in your Partner Space is on the roadmap.

Important notes

  • Referral partners can only invite new businesses to Banqup. If the business you're inviting already has a Banqup space, the invitation will be rejected and the client status will show as Invitation rejected.

  • You don't have access to client documents, integrations, or data. Your Partner Space focuses on client acquisition only.

Reseller partner

As a reseller partner, you take on the billing relationship for your clients. You invite clients to Banqup (new or existing) and handle their subscriptions directly. Banqup sends you one consolidated invoice each month for all your active clients, and you invoice your clients yourself outside of the platform. In return, you receive a discount on subscription prices.

What you can do:

  • Invite and link clients (new or existing businesses)

  • Pay for all your active clients' subscriptions

  • View a monthly breakdown of what you're paying per client in the Subscriptions – for clients report, or on each client's detail page

Important notes

  • You always pay for your clients' subscriptions, there's no option for clients to pay themselves.

  • A business can only be linked to one reseller partner at a time. If a business already has an active reseller partner, they get the choice to continue with the new reseller (the client status will show as “lost” for the current reseller), or to continue with the current reseller (the client status doesn’t change).

  • You don't have access to client documents, integrations, or other data.
