Connect your Business Space to SharePoint and Banqup uploads your invoices and enriched movement reports to a SharePoint site automatically. Your financial documents stay stored and searchable inside the Microsoft environment your company already uses, without manual downloads.
Note: This article is for Business Space users. If you are an accountant, see Exporting client documents to SharePoint instead.
Before you start
You need a Microsoft work or school account with access to the SharePoint site you want to use. Microsoft does not accept personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live) for this connection.
Banqup asks Microsoft for permission to read and write files and sites on your behalf. The person who signs in must be allowed to grant that on your Microsoft tenant.
Installing the extension
Open the app launcher and click Discover more to open the Banqup Store.
Search for "SharePoint" and open the SharePoint app.
Click Install.
Confirm that SharePoint may access the data in your space.
If Banqup lists a prerequisite app, click Yes, install all. It is installed and activated for you.
The installation takes a few seconds. Keep the window open. The wizard then walks you through the configuration.
Choosing what to export
Tick the document types to export: Purchase invoices, Sales invoices and Enriched Movement Reports. All three are selected by default.
Click Save configurations.
Choose the export format for purchase invoices and for sales invoices: Peppol BIS 3.0 (a structured electronic invoice file) or PDF.
Click Save configurations.
Note: You can change these choices later from the extension's Configuration tab. Click Skip on a step if you want to come back to it.
Connecting to Microsoft
Click Sign in with SharePoint.
Sign in with your Microsoft work or school account and accept the permissions Banqup asks for.
You are brought back to Banqup.
Note: If you closed the wizard before signing in, the extension stays inactive. Open it from Settings > Extensions, open the Configuration tab and click Complete configuration to pick up where you left off.
Choosing where the files go
After the sign-in, Banqup asks for the SharePoint location:
Site ID: the SharePoint site to upload to.
Drive ID: the document library on that site.
Upload path for sales invoices, Upload path for purchase invoices and Upload path for enriched movement reports: the folder inside the library. Leave a path empty to use the default path shown under the field.
You can build a path with placeholders that Banqup replaces for each file:
[company_name]: your company name.[uen_number]: your company number.[invoice_type]: purchases or sales.[external_id]: the reference of your company in your accounting package, if you filled it in.For enriched movement reports:
[year](the current year) and[type](the type of report, "cod" by default).
Click Save configurations. The extension becomes active and the export starts.
How documents are exported
Approved purchase invoices, sent sales invoices and enriched movement reports are uploaded to SharePoint as soon as they reach that status.
Only documents that arrive in Banqup after the extension is active are exported. Older documents are not sent retroactively.
The original documents stay in Banqup. The upload is a copy.
Changing the connection or switching it off
Click the main menu icon in the top-right corner, then Settings > Extensions.
Open SharePoint.
On the Configuration tab, change the document types, formats or paths and click Save configurations. To sign in with another Microsoft account, turn on Change connection settings first.
To pause the export, switch the extension to Inactive. Your settings are kept. To remove it, click Uninstall.
FAQ
Can I use my personal Microsoft account?
No. Microsoft only allows work or school accounts for this connection. If you see "You can't sign in here with a personal account", sign in with the account your company uses for Microsoft 365.
Is the connection secure?
Yes. Banqup uses Microsoft's own sign-in. Banqup never sees or stores your Microsoft password, and the transfer is encrypted.
Can I send documents to both SharePoint and OneDrive?
Yes. Each is a separate extension with its own settings. Install and configure both if you need both.
What happens if the Microsoft sign-in expires?
Open the extension from Settings > Extensions, turn on Change connection settings and sign in again. Your document types, formats and paths are kept.
