When making online purchases with your Banqup debit card, you'll need to authorise these transactions using the Banqup One mobile app. This secure authentication process ensures that only you, as the cardholder, can approve online payments with your card.
Authorising online card payments
After initiating an online payment using your Banqup debit card on a merchant website, you’ll be redirected to an authentication page. That page will instruct you to check your Banqup One app. Here’s how to authorise the payment:
Open your Banqup One app and authenticate.
Review the payment details shown in the app.
Approve or decline the transaction.
Once approved, you'll see a confirmation in the mobile app. Close it to return to the merchant’s website.
The authorisation process takes just a few seconds and provides an essential security layer for your online card transactions.
Important notes
Only the cardholder can authorise transactions for their card.
You must have the Banqup One app installed on your mobile device.
The authentication request is valid for a limited time - if it expires, you'll need to restart the payment process.
FAQ
Can someone else authorise my card payment?
No, only you as the cardholder can authorise transactions for your specific card. This differs from payments with your Banqup Business Account, which can be authorised by any user with authorisation rights.
What happens if I decline a transaction?
If you decline a transaction, the payment will not proceed, and you'll be returned to the merchant website. The merchant will be notified that the payment was not authorised.
