Editing an installed accounting app or extension

Written by Maxime

Once you've installed an accounting app or other extension, you can review and change its settings at any time, whether you're working from your Business Space or your Partner Space.

Editing an extension

This works the same way in your Business Space and in your Partner Space.

  1. Click the main menu icon in the top-right corner, then click Settings.

  2. Click Extensions. You'll see all the extensions installed in your space.

  3. Click the extension you want to edit. Its details open in three tabs:

    1. Description: what the extension does, its category, developer, and version. Informational only.

    2. Access: what data the extension can access in your space.

    3. Configuration: the settings you can change, for example which document types it exports, which formats it exports them in, and its connection settings (credentials or sign-in details).

  4. On the Configuration tab, most fields can be changed directly. To change how the extension signs in or authenticates, turn on the toggle above those fields first. Its exact label depends on the extension and what it uses to connect, for example a password, an API key, or general connection settings.

  5. Click Save configurations to apply your changes.

Good to know: some extensions don't need any configuration and are ready to use as soon as they're installed. If that's the case, the Configuration tab will tell you so.

Activating, deactivating, or uninstalling an extension

From the same extension page:

  • Use the toggle to switch the extension Active or Inactive. Deactivating stops the extension from working, but keeps its configuration in place so you can reactivate it later without setting it up again.

  • Click Uninstall to remove the extension from your space entirely. If it's not installed, you'll see an Install button in its place instead.

Note: uninstalling an extension removes it for everyone in the space, not just you.

Editing a client's integration from your Partner Space

The steps above edit the extension itself, in whichever space you're in. If you're an accountant, you also manage a separate, client-specific layer: each client can have their own settings for an integration, even though the extension itself is only installed once.

To edit a specific client's integration settings:

  1. Go to Clients.

  2. Open the client.

  3. Open the Integrations tab.

  4. Click the three dots next to the integration you want to change, then click Edit.

  5. Change the client's document types, formats, or connection settings as needed.

  6. Click Save.

Not what you're looking for? If you want to control which integrations are automatically applied to new clients, that's handled by configuration templates instead. See Using configuration templates for adding new clients in the Partner Space.

Good to know

  • Changes to an extension's configuration apply immediately; you don't need to reinstall it.

  • Editing a client's integration (via Clients > Integrations) only affects that one client. It doesn't change the extension's own settings in your Partner Space.
